⚡ Step 1: Real-Time Usage Is Captured by Smart Meters
Each installed smart meter records:
- Voltage, current, and power usage
- Energy totals, power factor, frequency, even temperature
- Across up to 3 phases — perfect for homes, shops, and malls
Every few seconds, this data is automatically logged and timestamped into our backend system.

🗂️ Step 2: Each Meter Is Linked to a Property
Every smart meter is assigned to a specific property in our system — for example:
- Crazy Pets – Rooisand Street, Kathu
- Total Sports – Kathu Village Mall
- Woolworths – Hendrik Van Eck Road
This means every reading is mapped to a location, so landlords can easily track usage per tenant or unit.
🧮 Step 3: Billing Is Calculated Automatically
Now the real magic happens.
Our system applies your unique billing settings, including:
- Buy rate (e.g. R2.50/kWh)
- Sell rate (e.g. R3.50/kWh)
- Other fees like fixed monthly charges (R300+)
- kVA charges, if applicable
The system also supports:
- Per-tenant billing
- Optional export energy tracking
- Custom “accumulated” or “separate” invoice styles

🧾 Step 4: Invoices Are Generated & Delivered
Once your billing period ends (weekly, monthly, or custom), our system:
- Compiles usage data from the meter
- Applies your rates and fees
- Generates a PDF invoice per tenant or property
- Makes it available for download or email delivery
